Just a quick update on Ethan's meet last Saturday.
Ethan rocked the casbah. Translation: He got fifth overall out of 11 kids in his level. But what's more impressive is that he took 2nd on high bar, 3rd on pommel horse, and 4th on rings and parallel bars.
His hardest routine was by far the floor. He was visibly nervous as he stepped up to be judged, and it showed when he failed to land his front and back handsprings. His score for floor is what knocked him down to fifth. He would have been in the competition for second if not for that.
But we are so proud of him! This is something Ethan has worked hard at. I've rarely if ever had to get on his case about going to practice. He loves his gym buddies and his coach Devin, who is really awesome. (In fact, Devin put off going on his mission to coach and we're hoping he'll put it off another year. Let it be his mission to be an awesome coach!)
