So I have two new loves as of late.Love #1: Pumpkin pie made with FRESH pumpkin. Not canned, uh-uh. You take a friggin' jack-o-lantern, hollow out its guts, put it in the pan and place the whole kit'n'kaboodle in the oven for a couple hours.
When you take it out, the skin falls off and the flesh is tender. You mash the steamy goodness and drain it, until you have pure pumpkin perfection puree. From there, using whatever filling recipe you like (of course using Gma Fisher's crust recipe) you can create the perfect fall dessert in a round tin. Top with a dollop only (no more no less) of whipped cream.
Love #2: Liverpool Football Club in general, Fernando Torres in specific. Ferny, if I may call him that, is pretty much the hottest man alive. In the world. Can you argue? No you can't. Look at his picture and salivate. What adds to his hotness, however, is that he is the leading striker in the English Premiership. That means he scores goals, lots of them, though I suspect he scores in many other ways as well . . .
Anyways, he is from Spain. He has golden hair in which he wears sexy hair bands. He is a blond-hair, band-wearing, spanish-speaking demi-god. What's not to love?
There you have it. My two loves.
And then it occurred to me: together, the two would be amazingness doubled.
Follow me here. Imagine coming home to find your home smelling of a delicious dessert. What is it? Oh my, it's pumpkin pie! But who could be cooking it? No, it couldn't be, could it? But IT IS!
Fernando Torres greets you in the kitchen in soccer cleats and a frilly half-apron dotted with cupcakes.
Fernando (in spanish accent): I have dessert waiting for you, mi amor.
Me: Oh, you're too kind Fernando!
Fernando: No, it is you who is too kind. But kindness is not your best trait, mi estrella bella. It is your beauty!
Me: Oh Ferni!
Fernando, putting a finger to my lips: Shhhh. No more talk. Let's eat dessert.
Fernando retrieves his freshly baked pumpkin pie. He slices me a piece and carefully plops a dollop of cream on top.
Fernando: I made this for you. It has a special ingredient.
Me: Fresh pumpkin?
Fernando: And love.
I suppose I'll stop the description of my fantasy right there, since it only devolves into scenes using obscene amounts of whip cream and hair bands. You don't even want to know how the cleats come into play . . .
What two or more items create YOUR ultimate fantasy?

Aaaaaack! TMI! TMI!
Pumpkin pie and Spanish footballers. That is quite a fantasy. Of course, the most unbelievable part isn't that he would be in your house at all, but that a Spanish man would be doing the cooking. Apparently there are all kinds of stereotypes that make that quite impossible. :)
you see why it's only a fantasy . . . sigh
